Getting started
Setup takes about five minutes and you only do it once. The clock remembers everything, even when unplugged.
Place it and plug it in
Set the clock on a flat, hard surface. The speaker plays through the bottom, so don't put it on a cloth or cushion. Plug the USB-C cable into the back and the power supply into the wall. The display lights up.
Connect it to your WiFi
The first time it starts, the clock creates its own WiFi network called Table-Clock-Setup. On your phone, open Settings › Wi-Fi and join it. A setup page opens by itself. If it doesn't, open your browser and go to 192.168.4.1.
Tap Configure WiFi, choose your home network, type the password and tap Save. The clock joins your WiFi and scrolls its network address across the display. Write that number down in case you need it later.
Open the settings page
Put your phone back on your home WiFi. Open the browser and go to athantable.local. If that doesn't open (some Android phones), type the number the clock scrolled, such as 192.168.1.42. Save the page to your home screen so it's one tap away.
Set your location
Scroll to Location & method. Type your city or ZIP code, tap Look up and pick your city. The latitude, longitude and time zone fill in for you. Choose your calculation method (ISNA is common in North America) and Asr (Standard or Hanafi), then tap Save settings.
Until a location is saved, the clock flashes LOC once a minute.
Reading the display
The colour of the digits tells you what the clock is showing.
| You see | It means | |
|---|---|---|
| White digits | The current time. You can change this colour. | |
| Soft blue | The date, briefly every 30 seconds (month and day, then year). | |
| Amber | Countdown to the next prayer, in the last 10 minutes. | |
| Green pulse | The Athan is playing. | |
| Time flashing | An alarm is ringing. | |
| Cyan | The timer is counting down. donE flashes when it finishes. | |
| Bright green | The stopwatch. | |
| Red colon (steady) | The Athan is muted. Alarms still ring. | |
| Blue colon | An alarm is snoozing and will ring again. | |
| LOC | No location saved yet. See page 3, step 4. |
The button
One button on top. A hold means press and keep holding for the time shown.
| When | Short press | Hold |
|---|---|---|
| Showing the time | Countdown 5 s, then the date | 3 s: mute / unmute Athan |
| Athan playing | Stop the Athan | (none) |
| Alarm ringing | Stop the alarm | 1.5 s: snooze |
| Timer finished | Stop the sound | (none) |
| Timer on the display | Pause or resume | 1.5 s: cancel the timer |
| Stopwatch on the display | Start or pause | 1.5 s: reset to zero |
Prayer times & Athan
The clock works out the five daily prayer times for your location each day and plays the Athan at each one. Today's times are listed at the top of the settings page, with the next prayer highlighted.
Each prayer
Under Athan, switch the Athan on or off for each prayer. You can also move each prayer up to 5 minutes earlier or later to match your local masjid.
Calculation method
ISNA, Muslim World League, Egyptian, Karachi, Umm al-Qura or Dubai. Asr can be Standard (Shafi'i) or Hanafi. Both are under Location & method.
Muting the Athan
While muted, the colon stays red. Alarms and the timer still ring. To stop an Athan that is already playing, press the button once.
Volume and options
Alarms
The clock holds six alarms, each with its own time, days and tune. You'll find them in the Alarms section of the settings page.

Alarm settings
Timer, stopwatch & display
Timer
Tap 5 min, 10 min or 15 min, or enter your own time up to 9 h 59 min and tap Start custom. It counts down on the clock in cyan. Use Pause, +1 min or Cancel on the page, or the button on the clock. When time is up, donE flashes and the timer tune plays. Press the button to stop it.
Stopwatch
Tap Start on the page, or press the button while the stopwatch is showing. It runs on the clock in green. Press again to pause. Tap Reset, or hold the button for 1.5 seconds, to go back to zero.
Display settings
Under Display on the settings page. Tap Save settings and the clock changes right away.
Protect your settings with a PIN
Anyone on your WiFi can open the settings page. To stop curious children or guests from changing things, go to Security, type a 4-digit New PIN and save. After that, enter it as the Current PIN whenever you save. To remove the PIN, type none as the new PIN.
Help & care
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| No sound | Check that the volume sliders aren't at 0 and the colon isn't red (muted). Tap Test chime. |
| An alarm didn't ring | Check it is ticked, the right days are ticked, and you saved. The page should show "Next alarm". |
| athantable.local won't open | Make sure your phone is on the same home WiFi. Or type the clock's number (it scrolls when the clock starts). |
| Prayer times look off | Check your location, method and Asr setting. Fine-tune each prayer by up to ±5 minutes. |
| Too bright or too dim | Adjust the two brightness sliders under Display. Keep the light sensor below the colon uncovered. |
| Can't find the WiFi in setup | The clock works with 2.4 GHz WiFi only. Most routers offer it. Pick the 2.4 GHz network name. |
New WiFi or starting over
Change WiFi: unplug the clock. Hold the button, plug it back in, and let go when ---- appears. The Table-Clock-Setup network opens again (see page 3, step 2).
Factory reset: do the same, but keep holding for about 10 seconds. The display counts down rSt3, rSt2, rSt1 and then shows donE. This erases all settings, alarms and WiFi.
Care
- For indoor, dry places only.
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
- Use the supplied 5 V, 3 A USB-C power supply.
